The Aquamen
A drunkenly raucous surf-revival group, the Aquamen formed in San Francisco with a shifting lineup that has included guitarist "El Capitan" Mike Drake, bassist Matt Harris (ex-Overwhelming Colorfast), and drummer "Lookout" Steve Bank; Drake and Harris formed Oranger upon their eventual departure. The Go-Going-Gone Girls
the G4s are holistic practitioners on pink pedestals, transcending form and fashion, time and technology. Their performances are not just seen and heard, but felt at a visceral—even primal—level. And though this trio of hair-hopping hoofers may worship at the altar of their frolicking forbearers, they are nothing if not au courant. Backed by an all-star four-piece lineup, the girls deliver a dexterous and distinctive blend of 60s go-go, soul, bubblegum, girl-group, and garage. Hear them sing, wail, scream, harmonize, plead, beg, and shout from atop their totemic pedestals. See them shimmy, shake, twist, dog, monkey, duck, bird, funky chicken, and pony like their ancestors of yore. Smell the musk generated by their fans as they wiggle, jerk, groove, watusi, peel, hully gully, hand jive, and slop to the ancient rhythms. Taste the sweat on your own lips as you are swept away by the sacred rituals of the mashed potato, the Madison, the hanky panky, the frug, the popcorn, and the bugaloo. Feel the band camelwalk, locomotion, skate, swim, stroll, and hitchhike their way into your heart.

The Babies (w/members of Vivian Girls and Woods)
"The Babies is the side project of both Cassie Ramone of Vivian Girls and Kevin Morby of Woods (with help from friends Brian Schleyer and Justin Sullivan). They combine the lo-fi pop of Woods with the Spector-esqe reverb of Vivian Girls and add an unbridled energy to create a sound light years from either of those bands — a kind of youthful, pre-pubescent punk rock complete with skinned knees, stringy hair, and Kool-Aid stained lips. Their songs have a haphazard charm with back-and-forth boy/girl vocals that make them catchy and addictive." - The Bay Bridged |

Simon Joyner (Team Love)
Simon Joyner was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, but he’s lived in Omaha, Nebraska most of his life. The geography, mythology, and personal connection to both the South and the Midwest act as shadow characters throughout his large body of work–swallowing some characters, emboldening others, always reminding us that place is much more than mere scenery. Joyner’s songs and stories focus on struggling or haunted characters who confirm their humanity during moments of strength and weakness, disappointment, failure, and, of course, love. (bio)
