A Sunny Day in Glasgow
"Inhabits a space somewhere between the ethereal gauze of the Cocteau Twins, the glowing guitar waves of My Bloody Valentine, and the shape-shifting minimalism of electronic artists like the Field and Fennesz." - Agit Reader

Gunslingers (France)
"Also known as massacre-rock deviant inquisitors, a French deconstructionist trio who needed to abuse the artifacts of some lost rock synthesis in one total, furious and quintessential record, like an evil paradox of rock. Expect pure apotheosis of wild horror biker freakouts, acid avant-punk and trippy psych-noise with no respite from the action's breakneck speed. Gregory Raimo aka GR's incriminating unspoken yaya words and unparalleled orgiastic guitar savagery over control, spacey analog effects fulminations and feedbacks culminating with Matthieu Canaguier's hypnotic and castrationist ritual thunder bass, and Antoine Hadjioannou's prophetic mad with scalp crashing down drums-machete."

Liquorball
"No one can peg Liquorball as sounding like any one particular band. In the 90's they were able to dexterously walk over the coals of thud rock ('Fucks The Sky'), exude billowing plumes of carburetor ingested dronabinol ('Hauls Ass') or raise greasy, psychedelic hackles that resembled down syndrome Fushitsusha ('Live In Hitlers Bunker') to a small but dedicated following. The more things change, the more they stay the same as it would appear Liquorball is playing to their tried & true but I would like to say some words & maybe it might open certain ears & wallets. After all, membership has it's privileges." - Siltblog

Nothing People
"Exhuming Chrome’s buzz, they reimagine Joy Division and Birthday Party as space rock bands. "Is This What You Want" starts things with a driving, motorik rhythm obscured by churning guitars and freaked-out synths, all underneath chanted vocals from the Ian Curtis school. This is space rock as it should be updated -- twisted, yet propulsive. "Remember How Cold It Was (Part 1)" is an ideal Exhibit B, a mechanical beat and repetitive riff filled with crazed vocals and swirling analog delays, spaced out and unstoppable. The flailing, distorted lead guitar splatters everything until the song crashes to a sudden halt.

It’s the kosmiche buzz amidst gloomy atmospheres that really lends the album a unique flavor. Every sound is buried in reverberation and delay, whether it’s a booming bass drum, the tick of a distorted snare, the tock of a pulsing bass, or the smears of guitar. At times, these songs reach MBV levels of churn. The industrial charm of "Wasting Our Time" is reminiscent of unsung pioneers like Factrix and Circle X, while elsewhere the band shows it can write a mean pop tune -- albeit one welcomely drenched in grime." - Dusted

Beaches (Australia)
"The Australian band Beaches isn't an all-woman supergroup, although its five members play in other bands and a few perceptive fans might recognize guitarist Antonia Sellbach from the trio Love of Diagrams, which was briefly signed to Matador. Considering the complicated reach of music exposure online these days, though, Beaches could make a real impact with its first Stateside tour. The group certainly stands out from its peers, cutting a unique figure against a growing glut of familiar sounds. With three guitars prowling and lashing in thick interplay, Beaches' Australian Music Prize–nominated, self-titled debut from 2008 spans thunderous postrock, splintered ragas, and New Zealand jangle without straying from its psych core. Violin, saxophone, and recorder lend more layers still, and the songs alternate between being fully instrumental and using all the women's voices." - SF Weekly
