Night Beats (Seattle)
The Night Beats hail from Seattle, but their sound, with it’s pulsing, psychedelic rhythms and wild-man guitar riffs, travels all the way from Austin circa 65’ like an erratic 13th Floors Elevators performance with Link Wray sitting in on guitar.

Nick Zinner book release party and live music performance

Please Take Me Off The Guest List (by Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Zachary Lipez, and Stacy Wakefield)
Nick Zinner, Zachary Lipez, and Stacy Wakefield will be doing a live music multimedia performance for this event.

PLEASE TAKE ME OFF THE GUEST LIST is the latest in a series of creative collaborations by New York City artists and friends Zachary Lipez, Nick Zinner, and Stacy Wakefield. Zachary Lipez's essays recount his adventures as a bartender, drug abuser, bookstore clerk, metal fan, miserable adolescent, and relentless skirt chaser. His inimitable voice walks the line between self-loathing and hedonistic delight, and is biting, moving, and extremely funny. Nick Zinner's photographs evoke the world he travels with his band the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. His always present camera documents decadent late nights as well as blissfully fresh sun-dappled landscapes. His images are rich in narrative and unwaveringly optimistic. The book is edited and designed by their longtime collaborator, book artist Stacy Wakefield. The unique structure she has devised for this book presents Zachary's essays as separate books-within-the-book, while the stories built by the photographs course through and around them. Zachary, Nick, and Stacy have produced three previous books together: No Seats on the Party Car, Slept in Beds, and I Hope You Are All Happy Now.

Brilliant Colors
" Jess Scott's breathy vocals and rhythm guitar — a crisp combination of post-punk spunk and drone — bound off drummer Diane Anastacio's frisky, skipping beats and bassist Michelle Hill's simple, straight-to-the-gut bass lines like the most natural thing in the world, recalling punk classics by early Buzzcocks and Wire as well as later successors Delta 5 and LiliPUT and riot grrrl-era kin Heavens to Betsy and Huggy Bear." - SF Bay Guardian

Milk Music
Milk Music: A very loud, and electric power trio lends a fuzz blanket over classic American songwriting in the vein of Dinosaur Jr., Feelies, Husker Du. (bio)

White Boss
White Boss are a punk band from the same scene that spawned Son Skull, Sex Vid, HPP, Funerot and HIV.

La Corde
"LA CORDE dices with that dark, gothic-tinged punk that evokes rainy days, black raincoats, and long bangs. Chiming, reverb-soaked guitars and driving rhythms are reminiscent of TSOL or BAUHAUS while the vocal delivery would have me reaching for my SISTERS OF MERCY records if I actually had any. If you've enjoyed the ESTRANGED's recent output, or like your punk on the gloomy, pessimistic side, this will not disappoint." - Maximum Rockandroll

Procedure Club (Slumberland)
"The Procedure Club is a collaborative "bedroom-pop" project founded by Andrea and Polish emigré Adam Malec in New Haven, Connecticut in 2008. The two began recording as a natural progression from their boredom with living in poverty in New Haven, sharing musical tastes in shoegaze and pop bands of the 80s and 90s, such as Black Tambourine, and The Jesus and Mary Chain, as well as a common admiration for Baroque artists such as Purcell and Bach. Out of this god-forsaken alliance comes Procedure Club, in which Adam and Andrea have combined melodic song structures with heavily reverbed vocals, stuttering mechanical drum beats, dirty bass, synths, and alternately washed-out and jangly guitars." Burning Yellows
"Look for Burning Yellows (Hozac) to continue to daze & mesmerize onlookers with their dreamy, fuzz-laden pop vibrations that will leave you glassy-eyed & converted within minutes. An atmospheric VU-rhythmic throb encapsulate your senses & lures you into their reverberated world & echo-saturated vocals wash over you like a chemical bath."

early show: Alcoholocaust presents legendary UK punks The Vibrators!

The Vibrators (UK)
With a career lasting thirty-three years, vocalist/guitarist IAN "KNOX" CARNOCHAN, bassist PAT COLLIER, guitarist JOHN ELLIS and drummer EDDIE originally formed the VIBRATORS in February 1976, and their first gig was supporting THE STRANGLERS at Hornsey Art College in North London. They supported THE SEX PISTOLS at the 100 CLUB and were one of the bands playing at the now legendary 100 CLUB PUNK ROCK FESTIVAL, where as well as doing their own set they supported guitar hero CHRIS SPEDDING. CHRIS recommended the band to his then record company, RAK. The band's debut single "WE VIBRATE" came out in November (one of the first punk singles) and was followed two weeks later by CHRIS SPEDDING'S "POGO DANCING" single with the VIBRATORS as the band on that.
