NYRE is a psycho candy pop group from San Francisco formed in 2014 by four armenian boys. The 4 members contribute to the group in various ways but as a live outfit they present themselves as a trio with a rotating lineup. With a knack for drugy melancholic melody and aggressive thumpy drums nyre makes catchy sonic beam, break beat tunes. After putting out a couple singles and an ep to local excitement they are currently running around the city playing small club rock and roll shows.
“Landing somewhere between My Bloody Valentine’s poppiest moments, Wavves least bratty missives, the result is something like if Nirvana had had a surf rock phase.” – Noisey
“…the kind of fuzzy, driving garage punk that you can always trust Burger to put out.”
After playing drums for countless other bands, including Shilpa Ray and WALTZ, Robert Preston went for a change and began his solo project, Pink Mexico. After moving from Brooklyn to Los Angeles, Preston self-released the first Pink Mexico LP, pnik mxeico, in June of 2013, attracting the attention of Austin-based record label Fleeting Youth Records, who then re-released pnik mxeico the following December.
A collective of ambitious losers with self-deprecating 4track, trapped inside a small Bay Area garage. We produce a mixture of noise rock, post-punk and even some elements of twee.
